How Your City Works

'How Your City Works' is a programme that OFFER and partners have developed and delivered in Sheffield for a number of years, and which has evolved over time to keep up with the changing partnership / structural / political landscape. How Your City Works is typically delivered over six half day sessions and is aimed at supporting Community reps to understand the structures and decision making processes involved in regenerating the city, and how to effectively engage with, and influence them.
Very many past participants have gone onto engage with e.g. the SF Partnership Board [the LSP]and it's sub-boards, with the programme also being adopted by other Local Authorities. On a recent trip to Barnsley John Denham highlighted the Barnsley adaptation of the programme 'How Your Town Works' as best practice and a valuable way to build people's understanding to become active citizens.
