Sheffield Community Economic Network [SCEN]

Background information - SCEN

The formation of this network stems from:

  • The need to form a partnership [Sheffield Community Infrastructure Partnership, SCIP] to respond to Yorkshire Forward's ‘Community Infrastructure Funding'
  • The decision after this funding had ended to form a wider network, based on OFFER's database for groups interested in the development of the economy - SCEN.

SCEN's ‘mission'

Is to, maximise the ability of Sheffield's VCF sector to unlock the potential of communities to contribute to the economic transformation of the City.

SCEN Membership

Is open to anyone who can demonstrate the following:

  • That it is a VCF sector organisation with expertise to help the partnership achieve its mission, objectives and activities
  • A willingness to abide by the values and behaviours outlined in the SCEN terms of reference downloadable here

To join SCEN, organisations simply need to complete and return an OFFER membership questionnaire - which only takes a few minutes to do. Click here to download the questionnaire in ‘word' format, which you can complete it electronically and return to info@offer.org.uk

Joining the network does not tie you in to attending every meeting. You may find it useful simply to receive minutes and associated information attached to the network and decide from that which / if any network meetings you come along to - whatever level you engage at is OK - the network is aimed at supporting VCF organisations in the way that works best for, and is most helpful to them.

Contact Mike Hodson at OFFER if you would like an informal chat about any aspect of SCEN activity / membership.
