Background info to revised hosting arrangements

Since it became clear that the funding to support OFFER's work would not be available, we've made finding ‘homes' for the various networks OFFER currently supports a key priority. As such OFFER has been having lots of conversations with:

-    VCF organisations who are members of a particular network to check out who might take on the hosting role

-    Various senior Sheffield City Council officers to check out their commitment to networks that relate to their area of work, and discuss what resources are required for their continuation and what SCC could commit to providing. In addition OFFER has explained to SCC's Deputy Chief Executive's office why it would not be appropriate for them to take on the role of facilitating the Networks.      

OFFER would urge all VCF sector network members to please continue your involvement in the various networks in these changing and challenging times. In a climate of diminishing resources to support voice and influence, the role of networks to enable our sector to share information and maintain a strong, collective voice becomes ever more relevant!
