DAF Prospectus issued by Work & Skills Board

DAF Prospectus issued by Work & Skills Board
The [long-awaited] Prospectus from the Work & Skills Board for a range of contracts has been issued. Funded from the Deprived Areas Fund [DAF] these are aimed solely at the VCF Sector, and are for a number of activities to support the main ESF-funded activity and to test some more innovative ways of helping the target groups such as lone parents, people on incapacity benefit and long-term unemployed into sustainable jobs.
The timetable is short - 13 August is the deadline - and the proforma is quite complex. Support for bidding is available from Mike Hodson at OFFER - mikeh@offer.org.uk

The 2nd Sheffield BME Infrastructure event was seen as a successful move forward in supporting the creation of a BME VCF sector network in Sheffield.

New Sheffield First Agreement Indicators now available

The full list of the Indicators/Priorities for the Sheffield First Agreement is now available - go to the Sheffield First Agreement page
Here you can see a simple list of the Indicators under the 5 Great Aims of the City Strategy, plus a link to the full document. This is unlikely to change after this. Further discussions will be held at the various Sheffield First Partnership Boards to identify the Actions necessary to achieve the targets.
Sheffield ERDF Programme out for consultation

The key elements of the business plan that will be submitted to Yorkshire Forward by the end of this month (Feb 08) are now out for consultation. This shows how not only ERDF, but also ESF, Working Neighbourhoods Fund, Local Enterprise Growth Initiative and Community Anchors Fund will all be used to help create successful neighbourhoods.
